Indicator: Final energy consumption in the residential building sector per capita

This indicator shows the calculated final energy consumption for space heating, domestic hot water and air conditioning in the residential building sector at the NUTS 3 level for the given year per capita.
The maps show final energy consumption, and the sum of all NUTS 3 regions is in line with the national energy balances of this sector before being corrected for the annual heating and cooling degree days. Conversion efficiencies from final energy (e.g. natural gas, electricity, district heating) to end uses are included, except for the conversion efficiencies of upstream processes such as district heat production or electricity generation. Therefore the results presented indicate the energy efficiency of buildings, behaviour and resulting consumption levels while incorporating the end-use efficiency of heating systems.
