Web Portal

What kind of data is it possible to find in the ESPON Database Portal?

The ESPON Database Portal provides access to key indicators provided by the ESPON Projects, as well as base indicators (time-series data from statistical offices supplemented by estimates), that are most relevant for the EU Cohesion policy, mainly at NUTS2 or NUTS3 levels on various thematic fields (demography, environment, labour force etc.).

These datasets cover the ESPON Space (EU28+Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland), and, for some indicators, Candidate Countries (Albania, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey) and Potential Candidate countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo) as well as Macro-regional strategies areas and Transnational Cooperation Areas. It is also possible to find data related to other geographical objects such as cities (Functional Urban Areas).

Data bundles by ESPON projects are also provided in a dedicated section of the Portal.
