Indicator: H2020 regional weighted intensity (inflows)

WEIGHTED INTENSITY (INFLOWS) looks at intensity in relation to the total regional population, a standardising proxy which allows cross-European comparison and an easily understandable value. This corrects the size bias of the previous indicator and allows for the assessment and comparison of the performance of regions according to their own relative capacity. While INTENSITY helps build absolute hierarchies and rank-size tables, the relative performance of each region compared to others should use this indicator, for example to assess their research production capacity, internationalization etc.
