EXTERNAL INFLUENCE (OUTFLOWS) is closely related to NETWORK SELECTIVITY. From the perspective of senders, it asks how much the number of projects coordinated by a particular region of origin contributes to the incoming flows (the number of projects participated) of the main partner destination. A strong percentage in this indicator means that the coordinating region represents a large share of the partnerships in a main partner region, whereas a low percentage means that the region is not particularly influential in the main receiving region’s partnerships.
