This dataset contains the results of an update of the regional classification according a the set of indicators on four dimensions: Labour market, Migration and population dynamics, Knowledge Economy potential and Context indicators.
It is based on a cluster analysis and the algorithm for the clustering is the kmeans ++.
The Cluster Analysis has been carried out for 3 different time-span (2014-2015, 2018-2019; 2020) in order to derive changes due to recent trends.
All data actually used to build the classification (period average) are included Other Data Element "Knowledge economy (Regional classification)".

Regional Classification is based on a cluster analysis according a the set of indicators on four dimensions: Labour market, Migration and population dynamics, Knowledge Economy potential and Context indicators.
Considered indicators are: Youth employment rate (15-24 years), Adult employment rate (25-64 years), Youth unemployment rate (15-24 years), Adult unemployment rate (25+ years), NEET rate (18-24 years) Natural change, Crude rate of net migration, Old dependency ratio, Persons with tertiary education (30-34), Human resources in science and technology (HRST), Intramural R&D expenditure (% of GDP), Availability of broadband (% of households) and Per capita GDP (2020 PPS)
The algorithm for the clustering is the kmeans ++ ; a sequence K-means++ algorithms with a pre-fixed number of clusters ranging from 2 to 9 has been performed.
