Indicator: Country location index for rejected asylum applications (index)

This indicator refers to the ratio of the rejected asylum applications on the number of total decision on applications taken in a given country, and compares such ratio with the same proportion at the regional level. In this way, the location index allows to show to what extent a country's rate of rejected asylum applications exceeds or falls below the median value registered at the regional level.
Final decisions refer to the situation in which all normal routes of appeal have been exhausted. Such decisions are taken by administrative or judicial bodies in appeal or in review and which are no longer subject to remedy. Although final instances typologies may vary according to the national legislation and administrative procedures, it is usually a decision of the highest national court.
