Material consumption indicators describe the amounts of materials in physical weight (excluding water and air) that are available and consumed in an economy. These material flows comprise also the extraction of materials inside the economy that is the amount of raw material (excluding water and air), in physical weight, extracted from the natural environment for use in the economy. Subcategories include biomass, mineral ores and non-metallic minerals. Figures are available for two year of reference (2006 and 2014) and performance indicators (e.g. material intensity) are provided along with temporal analyses.
