Indicator: Installed electrical capacity in mountain areas

Type: Project Other Data - July 8, 2019, 8:15 a.m.

Since the end of the 19th century, mountain valleys have been used to produce hydro-electricity. However, mountains vary in their potential for hydro-electric production. The largest hydro-electric capacity is found in Norway, where a large number of small plants provide for a total capacity of 29 GW.

This indicator groups the electricity production capacity for hydroelectric power plants in mountains regions by country.
