Indicator: Demographic centrality index at LAU2 level

Type: Territorial Data - July 3, 2020, midnight

The demographic centrality index is a measure of territorial proximity of the population, in a given territory. It is calculated as a ratio between : the product of the time-distances and the population, for each pair of LAU2 available in a cut-off distance of 45 minutes, and the total amount of population available in 45 minutes. It is analogic to a local weighted mean center, assuming that the distances are provided by the road network. The indicator was created for the LAU2 of 5 selected countries : Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
