For the SUPER project, scenario's projecting land use for 2050 were calculated using the LUISETTA land use modelling platform. Three scenario's were produced: diffuse, offering a baseline of unrestrained urbanisation; polycentric, offering some clustering and a moderate reduction in new urbanisation; and compact, offering strong clustering and a strong reduction in new urbanisation. Model output is presented in terms of urban land in 2050 relative to urban land in 2020 and in terms of population density per hectare of urban land; both at the national level and at the NUTS2 regional level.
