The manufacturing hubs of the CE area are in three distinct clusters: the Bavarian, the Stuttgart and the Lombardy manufacturing clusters. The Stuttgart manufacturing cluster is one of the most specialised manufacturing regions in the CE Area. From the goods flows to other clusters, the Stuttgart manufacturing cluster is most interlinked with the central manufacturing regions. This economic specialisation and the corresponding flows are driven by the accessibility of the regions (as denoted by their freight loading and unloading).
