R&D expenditure as % of GDP for EU-27+UK and ESPON partner countries, from 2007 to 2020.
These data are key headline indicators for research and development (R & D) expenditures and are obtained through statistical surveys which are regularly conducted at national and regional level covering R & D performing entities in the private and public sectors. R&D statistics are compiled for R&D activity performed in the whole economy. R&D data relate to the population of all R&D performing units classified in Sections A to U of the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev.2, 2008).
