An in-depth analysis of the four dimensions has been summarized by means of three simple bi-dimensional typologies (weighted intensity and balance, weighted intensity and concentration per area, weighted intensity and average distance). They have been developed by classification of one of the most representative indexes for each individual dimension.
Typology of regions based on migration intensity and balance
These typologies present the division, carried out on the basis of migration intensity and migration balance. Nine basic types of regions are established, classified into units featuring intensive, moderate and weak migration flows, and, simultaneously – receiver, sender and balanced units.
