EXTERNAL INFLUENCE (INFLOWS) is closely related to NETWORK SELECTIVITY. From the perspective of receivers, it asks how much the number of projects coordinated by the region’s preferred sending partner contributes to the total number of projects coordinated by that partner. The policy relevance is, as above, related to the potential relation of dependency between regions. A strong percentage in this indicator means that the participant region represents a large share of the partnerships of a main coordinating region, whereas a low percentage means that the region is not particularly influential in the main coordinating region’s partnerships.
