Similarly to adaptive capacity, the ability of a society to mitigate emissions is depended on thecapacity of the society to respond. Climate change mitigation comprises of activities focusing ondecreasing net greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, stressing the preventive natureof climate policy.
